Our aims are to ensure that our children have:

1. Spiritual Growth: Fostering the spiritual development of our children through religious education, prayer, sacramental preparation, and opportunities for reflection and prayer and worship

2. Faith Formation: Providing a foundation in Catholic social teachings, values, and traditions, while encouraging our children to deepen their personal relationship with God.

3. Academic Excellence: Promoting high standards of academic achievement across all subjects, while weaving through Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum.

4. Character Development: Nurturing the moral and ethical development of children underpinned by British Values by instilling Catholic virtues such as compassion, honesty, integrity, and respect for others.

5. Inclusive Environment: Creating a welcoming and inclusive school community where all children feel valued, respected, and supported regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances.

6. Partnership with Parents: Collaborating closely with parents and families to support the holistic development of each child, recognising them as the primary educators and spiritual guides of their children.

7. Catholic Identity: Cultivating a strong sense of Catholic identity underpinned by our mission statement: We Grow Together in God's love' which is rooted in the Gospel values of love, justice, mercy, and solidarity.

We believe that Christian worship in a Catholic school is concerned with giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God.  At St Anne’s we believe prayer is central to all that we do. We continue to foster and deepen the children’s personal relationship with God our Father daily in prayer. We do this by helping them become aware of God’s Presence in their lives and of His love for them by leading them to respond to Him in a manner suited to their age.

Children have opportunities to plan, deliver and contriubute to prayer and liturgy aswell as participate within whole school or class based worship. 

Liturgies and celebrations and events related to the Catholic Life of our school are shared in school newsletters,Twitter and are published on the school website. Parents are warmly welcome to attend all our collective worship and events within school.

Parents of pupils in Sacramental year groups are also invited to Sacramental Meetings throughout the year..

St Anne’s supports the RE curriculum with the teachings of social justice and the Universal Church via the Caritas in Action. We incorporate it into a relevant topic, themed week or religious education.  For example, Stewardship will be taught in the Plant Science topic in Nursery and Year 1; Family and the Community will be incorporated in the RE topic - The Christian Family in Year 3; Option for the Poor and Vulnerable will be delivered during Lent, when raising money for charities. 

The various pupil groups and classes will promote catholic social teaching through whole school and class prayer and liturgies. Children who go above and beyond in their catholic social teaching are awarded the Caritas in action award.

There is a parish-school programme of preparation of children for their celebration of the Sacrament Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Home, school and parish work closely together to support the children in their journey in Faith.

Each class has a saint assigned to them. They find out about these Saints and what made them so special. If we are in school, they celebrate the Saint’s Feast Day and do an assembly around their Saint, aiming to live their lives like this special person.

St Anne’s RC Primary school is within the Parish of St Frances of Assisi which serves two churches:    St Michael’s RC and Our Lady’s. Father Kevin Tierney is the Parish Priest.
