Art Prayer
Dear Father,
Thank you for giving those the gift of art which fills us with happiness and joy. As we remember some famous artist give them the strength and courage to continue to share their talents with the world. May we use our talents to create art which brings hope and peace to those who view it.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Psalm
"and he has filled them with the Holy Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills- to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.”
Psalm 139:13-14
Art and Design Curriculum Intent
A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. At St Anne’s Primary School we aim to develop pupils’ skills and knowledge, so that they leave our school with creativity and confidence. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our world.
At St Anne’s we aim to ensure that all pupils:
• produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
• become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
• evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
• know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
