French Prayer
Dear God,
Help us to recognise the importance of languages. Just as the Holy Spirit allowed the disciples to speak other languages we ask for your guidance as we study this beautiful language that it may become a tool for communication, understanding and connecting with other and to spread the word of God.
‘Nous grandissons ensemble dans l'amour de Dieu’
We Grow Together in God’s Love
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Psalm
God can reveal himself to people in and through any language, and no speech or language is foreign to him
(Ps. 19:3)
Modern Foreign Language - French Curriculum Intent
At St Anne's RC Primary School, our French curriculum is designed to instil a profound love of language learning and cultivate an awareness of diverse cultures. We aim to empower our pupils with the confidence to communicate effectively in French for practical purposes, utilising both written and spoken forms of the language.
Through our carefully structured scheme of work, we provide a solid foundation for language learning that not only encourages engagement but also enables pupils to apply their skills in learning additional languages. This approach fosters a strong understanding of the English language, facilitating future studies and opening up opportunities for our pupils to study and work abroad.
Our curriculum aligns with the National Curriculum end of Key Stage 2 attainment targets, ensuring that our pupils are well-equipped to meet and exceed these expectations. By embracing the Language Angels scheme of work, we ensure that our pupils develop the linguistic skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
